Swim Design creates exhibition and web interactives for The Clark

Williamstown, Mass.–The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute presents highlights of its permanent collection in a new exhibition titled Clark|Remix. The salon-style installation features paintings, sculptures and, decorative arts along with two interactives, uCurate and uExplore.

Swim Design, in collaboration with Virtual Gallerie, created two engaging interactive features for the exhibition that allow visitors to connect with and explore works from the Clark’s collection. Using a touchscreen, uCurate immerses the user in the experience of curating an exhibition from the objects in a 3D gallery. After selecting wall colors, choosing artwork and placing the objects in the space, users of the interactive can save their work to share with friends and to be entered into a contest. The winning exhibitions will be installed in the museum.

uExplore, is a tablet-based interactive that provides  more information about objects in the exhibition. Visitors can use the museum-provided mobile tablets or use their own to view uExplore. The web app includes detailed information on each object on display plus audio and video for select works.

The features were adapted for online use, allowing users everywhere to experience the art objects in Clark|Remix.
